Alphabet Crochet Series : A

Hi friends, welcome back to my blog. I am planning to do alphabet crochet series. Planning to do A to Z. Let's start crocheting alphabet A, which is easy indeed. Let's get started.

Crochet Terminology:

Hook size - 5mm 

sc- single crochet 

dc- double crochet 

ch- chain

Written Pattern:

Method 1:

Step 1 : Slipknot, followed by ch 20.

Step 2 : 1 SC on the 2nd chain from hook.

Step 3 : 1 SC on each chain till end of row.

Step 4 : ch 1 & turn

Step 5 : 1 SC each in the next 9 stitches.

Step 6 : 5 SCs in the next same stitch.

Step 7 : 1 SC on every remaining stitch till end of row.

Step 8 : ch 1, 1 SC on every stitch, until the central stitch of curve.

Step 9 : 5 SCs on the same stitch.

Step 10 : 1 SC each on the every remaining stitch, till end of row.

Step 11 : ch 1, cut off yarn & sew the ends.

Step 12 : Now for the central line. Mark the 5th stitch from bottom.

Step 13 : Start working on the opposite side, 5th stitch.

Step 14 : Slipstitch the yarn, ch 4.

Step 15 : Slipstitch on the marked stitch.

Step 16 : Make a slip stitch on the above stitch & do 1 SC on each of the 4 chains.

Step 17 : End with a slipstitch. Cut off yarn & sew.

Step 18 : Alphabet A is ready!!!

 

Method 2:  

hook:4mm

Step 1 : Slipknot, followed by ch 30.

Step 2 : 1 Dc on the 2nd ch from hook.

Step 3 : 1 Dc on each of the next 13 chs.

Step 4 : 5 Dcs in the next same chain.

Step 5 : 1 Dc in the remaining 14 chs.

Step 6 : slst on the base.

Step 7 : 1 slst on the next 4 sts.

Step 8 : ch 6 & slst on the 5th stitch from the bottom of the other side.

Step 9 : slst on the next 2 top stitches.

Step 10 : DC2Tog in the 1st 2 chs.

Step 11 : 1 Dc in each of the next 2 chs.

Step 12 : DC2Tog in next 2 chs.

Step 13 : slst to the 2nd ch.

Step 14 : ch 1, cut off & sew ends.

Step 15 : Alphabet A is ready!!!
