Saudi Arabia Flag Crochet

 

Hi friends, welcome back to my blog. I am so happy doing this blog, because this is the first time, I got a request from one of my subscriber, for doing a Saudi Arabia Flag Crochet. I wasn't quite well while doing this project. I was having cold, but I managed to do it within a couple of days. My family was a great support in helping me do this flag. Finally it came out well, Alhamdulilla.

Initially when I was 2 years, our family left to Saudi. We were staying in Dammam. My father was a government employee in a Postal office. My brother was born there.

My childhood times were so lovely and had quite a lovely memories. Visited Jeddah, AlKhobar, etc.... We both did our schooling in International Indian School, Dammam. Lovely school life.

So when this friend asked me to do, I quickly accepted without denying, though it took quite a long time for this project. I enjoyed doing these letters. Alhamdulilla.

Crochet Terminology:

ch- chain

sc- single crochet

dc- double crochet

tr- treble crochet

hdc- half double crochet

slst- slip stitch

hook: 3.5 mm

Written Pattern:

Let's start with the alphabets. 

" Laa "

Step 1 : Slipknot , followed by chain 26.

Step 2 : 1 SC on the 2nd cain from hook.

Step 3 ; continue doing 1 SC on each of the next 16 chains.

Step 4 : Now chain 15.

Step 5 : 1 SC on the 2nd chain from hook.

Step 6 : Continue doing 1 SC on the next 13 chains.

Step 7 : Slst to the next chain.

Step 8 : SC2Together on the next 2 chains.

Step 9  : 1 SC in the next 3 chains.

Step 10 : Slst on the last 2 chains.

Step 11 : Cut off yarn & sew the ends. "Laa" is done.

We would need 2 of this, so , repeat steps 1 to 10, one more time.

"Alif"

This video is already uploaded in our channel. We would need 4 pieces. 3 big and 1 small. For big 18 chains and small one 15 chains.

"Daal"

Step 1 : Slipknot followed by chain 20.

Step 2 : 1 SC on the 2nd chain from hook.

Step 3 : Continue doing 1 SC on the next 8 chains.

Step 4 : Now do SC3Togther on the next 3 chains.

Step 5 : Continue doing 1 SC on each chain till end of row.

Step 6 : Cut off yarn & sew the ends. Daal is done.

"Allah"

Step 1 : Slipknot followed by chain 36.

Step 2 : Slst on the 2nd chain from hook.

Step 3 : 1 SC on the next 4 chains.

Step 4 : SC2Together in the next 2 chains.

Step 5 : SC2Together again in the next 2 chains.

Step 6 : SC2Together in the next 2 chains again.

Step 7 : 1 SC on the next 1 chain.

Step 8 : 2 SCs on the next chain.

Step 9 : chain 7.

Step 10 ; 1 slst on the 2nd chain from hook.

Step 11 : 1 slst on the next chain.

Step 12 : 1 SC on the remaining 4 chains.

Step 13 : 1 SC on the next chain.

Step 14 : 1 SC on each of the next 3 chains.

Step 15 : SC2Together in the next 2 chains.

Step 16 :  SC2Together in the next 2 chains again.

Step 17 : 1 SC on each of the next 4 chains.

Step 18 : 4 SCs on the next same chain.

Step 19 : 1 SC on each of the next 2 chains.

Step 20 : SC2Together in the next 2 chains again.

Step 21 : SC2Together in the next 2 chains.

Step 22 : 1 SC in the next chain.

Step 23 : 1 slst in each of the next 2 chains.

Step 24 : Cut off yarn & sew the ends. "Allah" word is ready!!!

We need 2 of these. So repeat steps 1 to 23, one more time.

"Muhammad"

Step 1 : Slipknot, followed by chain 40.

Step 2 : Slst on the 6th chain from hook.

Step 3 : Chain 1 and turn.

Step 4 : 1 SC all the way to the slipstitched point.

Step 5 : 1 slst on the next chain as shown.

Step 6 : 1 SC on each of the next 3 chains.

Step 7 : 4 SCs in the next same chain.

Step 8 : 1 SC on each of the next 6 chains.

Step 9 : SC2Together on the next 2 chains.

Step 10 : 1 SC on each of the next 5 chains.

Step 11 : 4 SCs on the next same chain.

Step 12 : 1 SC on each of the next 3 chains.

Step 13 : SC3Together on the next 3 chains.

Step 14 : 1 SC on each of the 9 chains.

Step 15 : Cut off yarn & sew the ends. "Daal" is available on top.

"Raa"

Step 1 : Slipknot, followed by chain 19.

Step 2 : 1 SC on the 2nd chain on the hook.

Step 3 : 1 SC on each of the next 4 chains.

Step 4 : SC3Together in the next 3 chains.

Step 5 : 1 SC on each of the next 8 chains.

Step 6 : 1 slst in each of the next 2 chains.

Step 7 : Cut off yarn & sew the ends. "Raa" is done!!!

"Laam"

Step 1 : Slipknot, followed by chain 31.

Step 2 : 1 SC on the 2nd chain from hook.

Step 3 : 1 SC in each of the next 15 chains.

Step 4 : SC2Together in the next 2 chains.

Step 5 : 1 SC in the next 8 chains.

Step 6 : SC2Together in the next 2 chains.

Step 7 : 1 SC on each of the next 2 chains.

Step 8 : Cut off yarn & sew the ends. Laam is ready!!!

"Seen" and "Wow"

Step 1 : Slipknot, followed by chain 42.

Step 2 : 1 SC on the 2nd chain from hook.

Step 3 : 1 SC on each of the 3 chains.

Step 4 : SC2Together in the next 2 chains.

Step 5 : 1 SC in the next 2 chains.

Step 6 : 2 SCs in the next same chain.

Step 7 : chain 5.

Step 8 : 1 SC on the 2nd chain from hook.

Step 9 : 1 SC on each of the next 3 chains.

Step 10 : Slst to the next chain.

Step 11 : 1 SC on  the next chain.

Step 12 : SC2Together in the next 2 chains.

Step 13 : 1 SC on each of the next 4 chains.

Step 14 : in the same previous chain do 2 more SCs.

Step 15 : Continue doing 1 SC till the end of row. Swirl the wow around, while sewing.

Step 16 : Cut off yarn & sew the ends. Seen & wow done.

Green Flag:

Step 1 : Slipknot, followed by chain 61.

Step 2 : 1 SC on the 2nd chain from hook.

Step 3 : Continue doing 1 SC till end of row.

Step 4 : We would need approximately 40 rows.

Step 5 : Cut off yarn & sew the ends.Green flag base done.

"Sword"

Step 1 : Slipknot, followed by chain 51.

Step 2 : 1 slst on the 2nd chain from hook.

Step 3 : 1 SC on the next chain.

Step 4 : 1 HDC on the next chain.

Step 5 : Continue doing 1 HDC on the next 37 chains.

Step 6 : Now slst on the next chain and chain 3.

Step 7 : 1 Slst on each of the 2nd and 3rd chain from hook.

Step 8 : Slst to the next chain.

Step 9 : Continue doing 1 HDC on each till you have 2 chains left.

Step 10 : Slst to the next chain and chain 4.

Step 11 : 1 slst on each of the 2nd, 3rd and 4th chains.

Step 12 : slst to the next chain.

Step 13 : Keep slipstitching, until you reach the top part of handle.

Step 14 : Repeat step 7 once.

Step 15 : Slst to the same space.

Step 16 : Cut off yarn & sew the ends.

Sew all of the letters together as its in flag.
