Solid Granny Square

 


Hi friends, welcome to my blog. This is a simple solid granny square. There are a lot of granny squares. This one is a solid and less holes version. Hope it is easy to do for you as well.

Let's get started.

Crochet Terminology:

ch- chain 
sc- single crochet 
dc- double crochet 
tr- treble crochet 
hdc- half double crochet 
slst- slipstitch 

hook: 4mm

Written Pattern:

Step 1 : Slipknot followed by 4 chains.

Step 2 : Slipstitch to the 1st chain to form a circle.

Step 3 : Row  ch3, considered as 1st DC, followed by 2 chains for the corner.

Step 4 : Now 3 DCs in that middle space for another side. Ch 2 for the corner.

Step 5 : Repeat step 4 , two more times.

Step 6 :  Now do 2 DCs & slipstitch to the 3rd chain..

Step 7 : Row 2 : ch3, now do 2 DCs in that space.

Step 8 : ch 2 & again do 2 DCs in that space.

Step 9 : Now do 1 DC in each of the next 3 stitches.

Step 10 : Repeat steps 7 & 8, once.

Step 11 : We will have 7 DCs on each side. Repeat steps 7 to 9 till end of row.

Step 12 : Slipstitch to the 3rd chain of the 1st 3 chains.

Step  13 : Row 3 : Each row the DCs increases by count 4. So in this row we will have 11 DCs.

Step 14 : ch 3, followed by 1 DC in each, till you reach the corner. In the corner do2 DCs, ch2 , 2 DCs.

Step 15 : Repeat the steps till end of row. Slipstitch to the 3rd chain of the 1st 3 chains.

Step 16 : Continue the same pattern till you reach the height needed.

Step 17 : Cut off yarn & sew.

Step 18 : Solid granny square is ready!!!
