Lantern Crochet

 

Hi friends, welcome back to my blog. I made this Lantern , during Ramadan 2020. published during the Sahar time( dawn). I know it was late to post that video, but still having a 6 month baby & doing crochet was a tedious task. But I always love crocheting. Let's get started.

Crochet Terminology:

sl st - slip stitch 

sc- single crochet 

dc- double crochet 

 tr- treble crochet 

ch- chain

hook : 3mm

Written Pattern:

Step 1 : First magic ring, chain 3 in that ring.

Step 2 : slipstitch to join.

Step 3 : ch 1. Add a stitch marker.

Step 4 : Row 1 : Now do, 2 SCs in the 1st stitch, 1 SC in the next stitch , 2 SCs in the next stitch.

Step 5 : Slipstitch to join.

Step 6 :  Row 2 : ch 1, now pattern - 2SCs, 1 SC, 1 SC, 2 SCs, 1 SC, 1 SC,..

Step 7 : slipstitch to join.

Step 8 : Row 3 : ch 1, now pattern- 2 SCs, 1 SC, 1 SC, 1 SC, 2 SCs,....

Step 9 : Slipstitch to join.

Step 10 : Row 4 : ch 1, now pattern- 2 SCs, 1 SC, 1 SC, 1 SC, 1 SC, 2 SCs,....

Step 11 : Slipstitch to join.

Step 12 : Row 5: ch 1, now pattern- 2 SCs, 1 SC, 1 SC, 1 SC, 1 SC, 1 SC, 2 SCs,....

Step 13 : Slipstitch to join.

Step 14 : Row 6: ch 1, now pattern- 2 SCs, 1 SC, 1 SC, 1 SC, 1 SC, 1 SC, 1 SC, 2 SCs,....

Step 15 : Slipstitch to join.

Step 16 : Now work on the outer loop. 1 SC in each of the next 3 stitches & do ( 1 HDC, 1 DC, 1                           HDC) in the 4th stitch.

Step 17 : Repeat step 16, till end of row. Chain 1, cut off yarn & sew.

Step 18 : Now use white yarn & work in the inner loop.

Step 19 : ch 1. Pattern- 2, 1,1,1..

Step 20 : Now work in both loops. Repeat step 19.

Step 21 : Now do 1 SC in each for next 3 rows.

Step 22 : Now decrease the pattern. 1 SC, 1 SC, 1 SC, 2 SCs together, 1 SC,.... till end of row.

Step 23 : Next row decrease pattern 1 SC, 1 SC, 2 SCs together, 1 SC,... till end of row. Cut off white                    yarn & sew. 

Step 24 : Now the bottom part. Same pattern for 3 rows. ch 1, 1 SC, 1 SC, 1 SC, 2 SC,.... till end of row.

Step 25 : Now the last row, 1 SC in each stitch, till end of row.

Step 26 : Now almost done. Now for the bottom closing. Slipknot, followed by ch 3 & slipstitch to the                   1st chain.

Step 27 : Next row, ch 1 & 2 SCs in each stitch.

Step 28 : Next row, ch1, 2 SCs, 1 SC, 2 SCs,... till end of row.

Step 29 : Repeat step 28 for 2 more rows.

Step 30 : Slipstitch the inner loops together. Half way through, fill the toy stuffing & slipstitch the                            remaining. Add beads for decoration.

Step 31 : For keychain, slipstitch the yarn at top & chain in odd numbers & slipstitch it to the same                        place. Cut off yarn & sew.

Step 32 : Your Lantern is ready!!!
