Cozy Cup Crochet

 Hi all , welcome back to my channel. Today I thought to do a simple crochet work. This was in my long awaited list. Cozy cup crochet or mug cozy crochet. This can be done and used for any of your cups/mugs/bottles.

The thing that varies is the size. So give a try and go creative friends. This one I did for my daughter. She badly wanted one for her mug ( FROZEN MUG), while drinking milk / hot chocolate. She was super joy when I gave her this. hope you too wish to try it. I have typed here with simple wordings and terms, hope you find it easy and give a try too. Crochet Terminology:

ch- chain

sc- single crochet

dc- double crochet

tr- treble crochet

hdc- half double crochet

slst- slip stitch

hook: 5mm

Written Pattern:

Step 1 : Slipknot, followed by chains. The chains depend on your mug size. So first chain in multiples of 2 and then measure them.

Step 2 : For me it took around 40 chains.

Step 3 : chain 1 extra.

Step 4 : Now do 1 SC on each of the back loop of the chain starting from the 2nd chain from hook till end of row.

Step 5 : ch 1 & turn. Do 1 DC on each till end of row.

Step 6 : ch 1 & turn. Do 1 HDC on each till end of row.

Step 7 : ch 2, followed by Ch1 & skip 1 stitch .

Step 8 : Now do 1 DC, ch 1 & skip 1 stitch.

Step 9 : Repeat step 8 till end of row.

Step 10 : ch 1 & turn.

Step 11 : Now the pattern is 1DC on the bottom stitch of ch 1 space, followed by ch 1.

Step 12 : Continue the pattern till end of row.

Step 13 : ch 1 & turn.

Step 14 : Now the pattern is (1 SC,1 DC on the bottom stitch) in the ch 1 space of the previous row. This is for levelling the row.

Step 15 : ch 1 & turn.

Step 16 : Now do 1 HDC on each of the stitch till end of row.

Step 17 : Do 1 DC on each stitch till end of row.

Step 18 : ch 1, do reverse slst till end of row.

Step 19 : ch 1 & cut off yarn. Sew the ends.

Step 20 : Sew the elastic on one side & button on the other.

Step 21 : You can add few chains & slst instead of elastic.

Step 22 : Now your own cup cozy is ready!!! Enjoy with a cup of hot chocolate or coffee.
