Sling Bag Crochet

 

Hi friends, welcome back to my blog. I am doing a very simple & basic sling bag. I did this for my daughter. She wanted to carry her tissues & hand sanitizer while going out. It was really easy to make. She was happy too. The strap was user friendly. It wasn't hurting her neck too. 

So I would highly recommend doing it for your kids. Why wait, let's get started.

Crochet Terminology:

ch- chain 

sc- single crochet 

dc- double crochet 

tr- treble crochet 

hdc- half double crochet 

slst- slip stitch 

 hook:4mm

Written Pattern:

Step 1 : Slipknot, followed by chain 22. The chains depend on your preferred size.

Step 2 : Always chain 2 extra.

Step 3 : 1 Dc on the 2nd chain from hook. Put a stitch marker.

Step 4 : Continue doing 1 DC on the remaining chains. When you reach the 1st chain do 3 DCs in that same chain.

Step 5 : Do 1 Dc in each till you reach the 2 chain skip.

Step 6 : Slst on the stitch marker place.

Step 7 : Continue doing 1 DC on each stitch till end of row, then slst on the stitch marker place.

Step 8 : Continue the pattern, till you reach the desired size.

Step 9 : I did around 20 rows.

Step 10 : Now for small hanging , chain 11 & slst in same place.

Step 11 : ch 1 & cut off yarn. Sew the ends.

Step 12 : Strap: Slipknot , chain 155. This was perfect for my daughter.

Step 13 : 1 SC on the 2nd BACK Loop of  CHAIN from hook.

Step 14 : Continue step 13 till end of row. Chain 1 , cut off yarn & sew the ends.

Step 15 : Sew the zip. Flip the purse inside out & then sew the zip. Once done flip it back to the other side.

Step 16 : Sew the straps. 

Step 17 : Keep in mind that , the straps need to be straight while sewing, otherwise it will get twisted while wearing.

Step 18 : Your sling bag ready for use!!!
