Akash Kandil Crochet/Diwali Lantern Crochet

 

 Hi friends, assalamu alaikkum, today we will see a very easy and simple crochet. Akash Kandil Crochet. As many might have started decorating their homes, why not try this for Diwali. You can do this with ring or bangle. You will 2 pieces of them.

So let's get started.

Crochet Terminology:

sl st - slip stitch 

sc- single crochet 

dc- double crochet 

tr- treble crochet 

hdc- half double crochet

ch- chain

hook : 3mm

Written Pattern:

 Step 1 : Slipknot,R1: make 1 SC on the ring.

Step 2 : R2: do 1 SC on the back loop.

Step 3 : R3: Do V stitch . (1 DC, ch 1, 1 DC in same space, skip 2 stitches), continue same pattern till end of row.

Step 4 : R4 : Do 3 DCs in the ch 1 space till end of row.

Step 5 : Repeat steps 3 & 4 alternatively.

Step 6 : But end the row with step 3 .

Step 7 : R 14 : 1 Sc in each.

Step 8 : R 15 : do 1 SC with R 14 on the ring & do another Sc without R14.

Step 9 : ch 1 & cut off yarn & sew.

Step 10 : For top hanging, slst to one of the side, chain 61.

Step 11 : If u r doing on 2 sides, after 27 chains, make stitch markers, in that slst and continue.

Step 12 : slst to other side and cut off yarn.

Step 13 : If u r doing any decorations, u can add beads, or just leave as so.

Step 14 : Your decoration is ready!!!
