Basket Crochet

Hi friends, assalamu alaikkum. As this is Ramadan and Gergean is nearing, Kuwait celebrates this day with kids carrying baskets and get toffee and candies from neighbors. So thought to make this little basket. It was quite easy to make and the finished product was awesome. Many liked it. So I hope you too like it.

Crochet Terminology:

sl st - slip stitch 

sc- single crochet 

dc- double crochet 

tr- treble crochet 

hdc- half double crochet

ch- chain

 

Hook : 

Basket: 4.5mm 

Flower: 3mm

Things needed:

1. Yarn

     Basket : Blue

     Flower : Peach

2. Darning Needle 

3. Scissors

4. Plastic Tub

5. Beads

Written Pattern:

Step 1 : Slipknot, followed by 5 chs.

Step 2 :slst to the 1st ch to form a loop.

 

Step 3 : R1 : Pattern: 12 Dcs in that loop. slst at the end. Total 12 Dcs.

Step 4 : R2 : Pattern : 2 Dcs in each stitch. slst at the end. Total 24 Dcs.

Step 5 : R3 : Pattern : (2 Dcs, 1 Dc)* repeat pattern till end of row. slst at the end. Total 36 Dcs.

 

Step 6 : R4 : Pattern : (2 Dcs, 1 Dc, 1Dc)* repeat pattern till end of row. slst at the end. Total 48 Dcs.

 

Step 7 : R5 : Pattern : 1 Dc in each till end of row. slst at the end. Total 48 Dcs.

 

Step 8 : R6-10 : Repeat step 7. These rows depends on the height of the tub or the basket you prefer.

 

Step 9 : ch 50 for hanging. Sc to the other side. ch 1, cut off & sew ends. 

Step 10 : R11 : (2 Dcs, ch 1)* in each Dc till end of row. Total 96 Dcs.

Step 11 : R12 : slst to the 1st ch 1 space. ch 3 followed by 1 Dc in that ch 1 space. ch 3, Sc in that Dc. Repeat it 9 more times, totally 10 times.

Step 12 : Dc in each till you reach the 3rd ch 1 space. Repeat the flower pattern of step 11.

Step 13 : slst at end.

Step 14 : Add beads.

Step 15 : Your basket is ready!!!
