Tamil Alphabet அ and ஆ Crochet

Hi friends, assalamu alaikkum. Tamil is my mother language. And I really have an immense pride in crocheting tamil alphabets. This was a requested video. And I would like to thank Yasotha (Hope that's her name) for choosing me to crochet, though there are many experts in this field. Once again hearty thanks. This was quite challenging, as I am basically Hindi student, because I studied in abroad. So Tamil wasn't a language option. I learnt by myself. It's all because,I had much passion in learning new languages. And hopefully I succeeded.

Now let's start the project! 

For this project , the yarn & hook size are your preference. The bigger hook, bigger the size. I am using the normal size hook, which is 4 mm.

Crochet Terminology:

sl st - slip stitch 

sc- single crochet 

dc- double crochet 

tr- treble crochet 

hdc- half double crochet

ch- chain

 

Hook : 4mm

Things needed:

1. Yarn

2. Darning Needle 

3. Scissors

Written Pattern:

 அ 

Step 1 : Slipknot, followed by 35 chs.

Step 2 : Skip the 1st chain.

Step 3 : Sc5Tog.

Step 4 : 1 Sc in the next chain.

Step 5 : Sc2Tog in the next 2 chs.

Step 6 : 1 Sc in the next 2 chains.

Step 7 : Sc2Tog.

Step 8 : Sc2Tog.

Step 9 : 1 Sc in each of the next 6 chains.

Step 10 : Sc2Tog.

Step 11 : 1 Sc in each of the remaining chains.

Step 12 : ch 4.

Step 13 : 1 Sc on the 2nd ch from hook.

Step 14 : 1 Sc on the remaining 2 chains.

Step 15 : ch 6.

Step 16 : 1 Sc on the 2nd ch from hook.

Step 17 : 1 Sc on the remaining 4 chains.

Step 18 : slst to the next stitch.

Step 19 : ch 1, cut off and sew ends.

Step 20 : அ is ready!!!

ஆ

Step 1 :  Repeat the above Steps 1 to 19.

Step 2 : slst to the 3rd stitch from the bottom.

Step 3 : ch 10.

Step 4 : 5 Scs on the 2nd ch from hook.

Step 5 : 1 Sc on each of the next 2 chains.

Step 6 : Sc2Tog.

Step 7 : 1 Sc in each of the next 2 chains.

Step 8 : 3 Scs on the next same stitch.

Step 9 : Repeat step 8 once agin.

Step 10 : slst to the next stitch.

Step 11 : cut off  and sew ends.

Step 12 : ஆ is ready!!!
