Hand Fan Crochet

 

Hi friends, assalamu alaikkum. Hope you all are doing good.As its summer and its scorching heat, was using a hand fan. Suddenly the plastic part came off. So thought why not we crochet a hand fan for ourselves. I did this, it took quite a long time but still I enjoyed doing it. A simple hand fan crochet with repeating of steps. 

 So let's get started.

Crochet Terminology:

sl st - slip stitch 

sc- single crochet 

dc- double crochet 

tr- treble crochet 

hdc- half double crochet

ch- chain

 

Things needed:

1. Yarn

2. Darning Needle 

3. Scissors

4. Needle 

5. Plastic hand fan

hook : 

1.5mm

5mm for pouch

3.5mm for the band and string of pouch

 

Written Pattern:

Step 1 : Slipknot, followed by ch 82.

Step 2 : R1 : 1 Sc on the 2nd ch from hook.

Step 3 : Continue 1 Sc on each till end of row. ch 2 & turn

Step 4 : R2 : 1 Dc on each of the 3 sts, ch 4, 1 dc on the 4th st, 1 dc on each of the 2 sts, ch 4,... till end of row. ch 2 & turn.

Step 5 : R3 : 1 Dc on each of the previous 3 dcs,( ch 1, 1 dc, ch 1) in ch 4 space,... till end of row. ch 2 & turn.

Step 6 : R4 : 1 Dc on each of the prev 3 dcs,(ch 1, 1 dc, ch 1, 1dc, ch 1),.... till end of row. ch 2 & turn.

Step 7 : R5 : 1 Dc on each of the previous 3 dcs,( ch 2, 2dc, ch 2) in ch 1 space,... till end of row. ch 2 & turn.

Step 8 : R6 :  1 Dc on each of the prev 3 dcs,(ch 2, 1 dc, ch 2, 1dc, ch 2),.... till end of row. ch 2 & turn.

Step 9 : R7 : repeat R5 once.

Step 10 : R8 : repeat R6 once.

Step 11 : R9 : 1 Dc on each of the previous 3 dcs,( ch 3, 3dc, ch 3),... till end of row. ch 2 & turn.

Step 12 : R10 : 1 Dc on each of the prev 3 dcs,(ch 3, 1 dc, ch 3, 1dc, ch 3),.... till end of row. ch 2 & turn.

Step 13 : R11: repeat step 9 once.

Step 14 : R12 : repeat step 10 once.

Step 15 : R13 : repeat step 9 once.

Step 16 : R14 : repeat step 10 once.

Step 17 : R15 : 1 Dc on each of the previous 3 dcs,( ch 4, 4dc, ch 4),... till end of row. ch 2 & turn.

Step 18 : R16:  1 Dc on each of the prev 3 dcs,(ch 4, 1 dc, ch 4, 1dc, ch 4),.... till end of row. ch 2 & turn.

Step 19 : R17: 1 dc on each of the prev 3 dcs, (ch 4, 1 sc, 3 dcs, picot, 3 dcs, 1 sc, ch 4), .... till end of row.

Step 20 : ch 1, cut off & sew ends. Glue the dc strips to the sticks.

Step 21 : Make a band. slipknot, followed by ch 33. slst to the 1st ch to form a loop.

Step 22 : R1 : 1 dc on each of the chs. slst to the 1st dc.

Step 23 : R2 : 1 sc on each. slst to the 1st sc.

Step 24 : ch 1, cut off & sew ends.

Step 25 : Make a pouch, which is optional. I have made one already for mobile. Use the same pattern. The length is of your forefinger size.

Step 26 : Your hand fan with its accessories is ready for use & travel!!!
