Sheep/Lamb Applique Crochet

Hi friends, welcome back to my blog. As Eid-Ul-Adha is near, I thought of making a simple sheep applique. A very very easy version. Beginner's friendly version in indeed. I enjoyed doing this crochet, as well I was running out of time too, as Eid was due in a week.

So let's jump in the project.

Crochet Terminology:

ch- chain

sc- single crochet

dc- double crochet

tr- treble crochet

hdc- half double crochet

slst- slip stitch

Hook: 3mm & 4mm

Written Pattern:

Step 1 : Magic ring, ch 1, followed by 12 HDCs in that ring.

Step 2 : Slst to the 1st stitch.

Step 3 : ch 2 ( considered as 1st HDC), 1 HDC in the same stitch. Keep doing 2 HDCs in the same stitch. Total 24 HDCs.

Step 4 : ch 2( considered as 1st HDC), do puff type stitch. Yarn over, pull thru, pull it little high. Then do 3 more times in the next stitch.

Step 5 : Once done, pull through all. ch 2 & slst to the next stitch.

Step 6 : Repeat steps4 & 5, till end of row. I did one more set of the body part with hook size of 4mm.

Step 7 : Cut off yarn & sew. Body part is done.

Step 8 : Now the face & head part. Magic ring, ch 1, followed by 6 HDCs.

Step 9 : Slst  to the 1st stitch.

Step 10 : ch 2 ( considered as 1st HDC ). Do 1 more HDC.

Step 11 : Continue doing 2 HDCs in each of the stitch. Total of 12 HDCs.

Step 12 : Slst to the 1st stitch.

Step 13 : For the horn: Ch 4.

Step 14 : slst on the 2nd chain from hook. 1 SC on each of the next 2 chains. Slst on the next stitch.

Step 15 : now do 1 slst on each of the next 6 stitches.

Step 16 : Repeat steps 13 & 14 for the next horn.

Step 17 : Cut off yarn & sew.

Step 18 : Leg Part : Slipknot, ch 3 , slst to the 1st chain to form a circle.

Step 19 : ch 2 (considered as 1st HDC), do 5 more HDCs in that mid space.

Step 20 : ch 7, 1 SC on the 2nd chain from hook.

Step 21 : Continue doing 1 SC on the next 5 chains.

Step 22 : Slst to the 1st stitch. One leg done.

Step 23 : For the next leg, repeat steps 18 to 22.

Step 24 : Add eyes & mouth for the sheep & sew them all together.

Step 25 : Tadaaa!!! Sheep is ready...
