Pongal Pot Crochet

 Hi friends, welcome back to my blog. Today we will see a cute crochet project, Pongal Pot. Pongal falls on January 14th, every year, which is a harvest festival, for Tamil community. So hope you too enjoy watching it.

Without further ado, let's begin crocheting.

Crochet Terminology:

ch- chain

sc- single crochet

dc- double crochet

tr- treble crochet

hdc- half double crochet

slst- slip stitch

SC2Tog - Single Crochet 2 Together

DC2Tog - Double Crochet 2 Together

hook: 3mm

Written Pattern:

Step 1 : Brown yarn: Magic ring.

Step 2 : 5 SCs in that ring, pull it tight.

Step 3 : slst to the 1st SC.

Step 4 : Pattern : 2 SCs in each stitch. Slst at the end.

Step 5 : Pattern : 2 SCs, 1 SC,2 SCs,.... till end of row. Slst at the end.

Step 6 : 2 Rows of 1 SC in each stitch.

Step 7 : Pattern : 2 SCs, 1 SC,1 SC, 2 SCs,.... till end of row. slst at the end.

Step 8 : Now do chain 1 with white yarn.

Step 9 : 1 SC on each stitch for 2 rows with white yarn.

Step 10 : Chain 1 with brown yarn.

Step 11 : 1 SC in each stitch for 1 row. slst at end.

Step 12 : Pattern : SC2Tog, 1 SC, 1 SC, SC2Tog,.... till end of row. Slst at end.

Step 13 :  Pattern : SC2Tog, 1 SC,.. till end of row. slst at end.

Step 14 : Add the stuffing.

Step 15 : Pattern :chain 1.  1 SC on each stitch on the front loop. slst at end.

Step 16 : Chain 1. Pattern: 2 SCs, 1 SC , 2 Scs,... till end of row. slst at end.

Step 17 : Cut off yarn & sew.

Step 18 : Top part: Magic ring.

Step 19 : 5 SCs in that ring.

Step 20 : slst to the 1st SC.

Step 21 : Pattern : 2 SCs in each till end of row. Slst to the 1st stitch.

Step 22 : Pattern : 2 SCs, 1 SC, 2 SCs,... till end of row. slst to the 1st stitch.

Step 23 : 1 Sc on each stitch for 2 rows.

Step 24 : Cut off yarn, add the stuffing & sew both bottom and top part together.

Step 25 : Pongal pot ready!!
