Simple Laundry Basket Crochet

Hi friends assalamu alaikkum. This is a very simple and easy basket crochet. You can make this in half an hour. You can use this either as a laundry basket or for any storing purpose. I did this for my daughter's toy room. As well there were many leftover scrap yarns, thought to use it efficiently. So here I am with this basket.

Crochet Terminology:

sl st - slip stitch 

sc- single crochet 

dc- double crochet 

tr- treble crochet 

hdc- half double crochet

ch- chain

 

Hook : 5mm

Things needed:

1. Yarn

2. Darning Needle 

3. Scissors

I have turned the yarn little bulky . If you are already using a bulky yarn, please continue as it is. 

Written Pattern:

Step 1 : Magic ring, (R1) followed by 12 Dcs.

Step 2 : R2 : 2 Dcs in each. Total 24 Dcs. Slst at the end.

Step 3 : R3 : Pattern : ( 2 Dcs, 1 Dc) * till end of row. Slst at the end. Total 36 Dcs.

Step 4 : R4 : Pattern : ( 2 Dcs, 1 Dc, 1 Dc) * till end of row. Slst at the end. Total 48 Dcs.

Step 5 : R5 : Pattern : ( 2 Dcs, 1 Dc, 1 Dc, 1 Dc) * till end of row. Slst at the end. Total 60 Dcs.

Step 6 : R6 : Pattern : ( 2 Dcs, 1 Dc, 1 Dc, 1 Dc, 1 Dc) * till end of row. Slst at the end. Total 72 Dcs.

Step 7 : R7 : Pattern : 1 Dc in each in back loop only. Slst at end. Total 72 Dcs

Step 8 : R8 to R13 : 1 Dc in each. Slst at end. Total 72 Dcs.

Step 9 : R14 : For handles, do ch 8, skip 3 stitches and do Dc in the next stitch. 

Step 10 : Continue Dc till you reach the next half and repeat step 9 again.

Step 11 : R15 : 1 Dc in each. D0 1 Sc in each chains.

Step 12 : cut off and sew ends. Your basket is ready!!!!
