Simple Purse Crochet

 

Hi friends, assalamu alaikkum, welcome back to my blog.
Today we will see a very easy purse without zipper, with a little twist in HDC. Hope you like it. This a very simple and elegant one.

Crochet Terminology:

ch- chain

sc- single crochet

dc- double crochet

tr- treble crochet

hdc- half double crochet

slst- slip stitch

hook: 5mm & 3mm

Written Pattern:

Step 1 : Slipknot, followed by chains. The chains depend on the size you will need. We will be folding it in half, so make chains depending on it.

Step 2 : 1 HDC on the 2nd chain from hook.

Step 3 : start the HDC on the same chain, but dont finish it, instead continue on the next chain. In simple, HDC2Together from the previous chain and the following chain.

Step 4 : 1 HDC on the last chain.

Step 5 : chain 1 & turn.

Step 6 : Repeat steps 2 to 5, till the no. of rows needed.

Step 7 : cut off yarn & sew.

Step 8 : For the top flap, ch 4.

Step 9 : slst to the 1st chain to form a loop.

Step 10 : chain 2 , considered as 1st DC.

Step 11 : Do 6 more DCs in that loop. Total 7 Dcs.

Step 12 : Chain 2 & turn.

Step 13 : Pattern : 2 DCs in each stitch. Chain 2 and turn.

Step 14 : Pattern : 2 DCs, 1 DC, 2 DCs,... till end of row. chain 2 & turn.

Step 15 : Pattern : 2 DCs, 1 DC, 1 DC, 2 DCs,... till end of row. chain 2 & turn.

Step 14 : Pattern : 2 DCs, 1 DC, 1 DC, 1 DC, 2 DCs,... till end of row. chain 2 & turn.

Step 15 : Continue increasing the 1 DC alone in each row, to reach the perfect flap size. After that do 1 SC on the bottom side to make it even.

Step 16 : Sew a cloth to the inner part.

Step 17 :  Add magnetic snap lock.

Step 18 : slst the body and the flap part together

Step 19 : SC the sides, while in corners do 3 Scs in the same stitch.

Step 20 : Add a decorative button. If u want , you can add handles too. I am keeping it simple.

Step 21 : A very cute and elegant purse is ready for you to carry.
