Drawstring Pouch/Mini backpack Crochet

 

Hi friends, assalamu alaikkum. today we will make a very simple and easy crochet stuff, backpack/drawstring pouch, which is very useful during festive days as return gifts.

So let's get started.

Crochet Terminology:

sl st - slip stitch 

sc- single crochet 

dc- double crochet 

tr- treble crochet 

hdc- half double crochet

ch- chain

hook : 2.5mm

Written Pattern:

 Step 1 :Magic ring.

Step 2 : 6 SCs in that ring.

Step 3 : slst to the 1st SC.

Step 4 : R 1  Patt: 2 SCs in each stitch till end of row. Slst

Step 5 : R2  Patt: 2 SCs, 1 SC, 2 SCs,.. till end of row. Slst.

Step 6 : R3  Patt: 2 SCs, 1 SC, 1 Sc, 2 SCs,.. till end of row. Slst.

Step 7 :  R4  Patt: 2 SCs, 1 SC, 1 SC, 1 SC, 2 SCs,.. till end of row. Slst

Step 8 :   R5  Patt: 2 SCs, 1 SC,1 Sc,1 SC,1 Sc, 2 SCs,.. till end of row. Slst.. 

Step 9 :  R6  Patt: 2 SCs, 1 SC,1 SC,1 SC,1 SC,1 SC, 2 SCs,.. till end of row. Slst.

Step 10 : R7  Patt: 2 SCs, 1 SC,1 SC,1 SC,1 SC,1 SC,1 SC, 2 SCs,.. till end of row. Slst.

Step 11 : chain 2, 1 HDC in each of the back loop till end of row.

Step 12 : slst and continue doing HDC in each stitch till the needed no. of rows.

Step 13 : Patt:( 1 HDC in 3 stitches, chain 1, skip 1 stitch) * repeat till end of row.

Step 14 : 1 HDC in each stitch till end of row. slst. With this it can be used as a drawsting pouch.

Step 15 : Flap: slst to the folded portion, do 1 HDC in 11 stitches.

Step 16 : chain 2 and turn. 1 HDC in each stitch. I did for 6 rows.

Step 17 : once done. 1 SC in each stitch around. Chain 1 and cut off yarn

Step 18 : Sew the ends. Sew the buttons.

Step 19 : Backstrap: slipknot, followed by chain 85.

Step 20 : 1 Sc on each chain starting from the 2nd chain from hook till end of row.

Step 21 : sew the strap in back part.

Step 22 : Drawstring: slipknot, followed by chain 70.

Step 23 : cut off yarn.

Step 24 : Add the drawstring.

Step 25 : add beads too.

Step 26 : Your  mini backpack is ready!!!!
