Bucket Hat Crochet

Hi friends, assalamu alaikkum. Hope you all are doing good!!! As its summer, here we are with a simple hat for kids, bucket hat crochet. It's super easy and can make in an hour or two. 

So let's get started.

Print this Pattern

Crochet Terminology:

sl st - slip stitch 

sc- single crochet 

dc- double crochet 

tr- treble crochet 

hdc- half double crochet

ch- chain

 

Things needed:

1. Yarn

2. Darning Needle 

3. Scissors

4. Needle 

Note: If you are using a bulky yarn, use single strand. As mine was thin, I used 2 strands of different colors.

hook : 5mm 

 

Written Pattern:

Step 1 : Slipknot followed by ch 4.

Step 2 : slst to the 1st ch to form a loop.

Step 3 : Top part: R1: 10 Dcs.

Step 4 : R2: 2 Dcs in each. Total 20 Dcs.

Step 5 : R3: (1 Dc, 2 DCs)* repeat till end of row. Slst at end. Total 30 Dcs.

Step 6 : R4: (1 Dc, 1 Dc, 2 Dcs)* repeat till end of row. Slst at end. Total 40 Dcs.

Step 7 : R5: (1 Dc, 1 Dc, 1 Dc, 2 Dcs)* repeat till end of row. Slst at end. Total 50 Dcs.

Step 8 : R6: (1 Dc, 1 Dc, 1 Dc, 1 Dc, 2 Dcs)* repeat till end of row. Slst at end. Total 60 Dcs.

Step 9 : R7: (1 Dc, 1 Dc, 1 Dc, 1 Dc, 1 Dc, 2 Dcs)* repeat till end of row. Slst at end. Total 70 Dcs.

Step 10 : Sides:  R8- R13: 1 Dc in each stitch. slst at end. Total 70 Dcs.

Step 11 : Repeat row 10 as long as it reaches the top part of your ears.

Step 12 : Brim: R14: (1 Dc, 1 Dc, 1 Dc, 1 Dc, 1 Dc, 1 Dc, 2 Dcs)* repeat till end of row in front loop only. Slst at end. Total 80 Dcs.

Step 13 : R15: (1 Dc, 1 Dc, 1 Dc, 1 Dc, 1 Dc, 1 Dc, 1 Dc, 2 Dcs)* repeat till end of row. Slst at end. Total 90 Dcs.

Step 14 : R16: (1 Dc, 1 Dc, 1 Dc, 1 Dc, 1 Dc, 1 Dc, 1 Dc, 1 Dc, 2 Dcs)* repeat till end of row. Slst at end. Total 100 Dcs.

Step 15 : R17: 1 Sc on each till end of row. Slst at end. 100 Scs

Step 16 : ch 1, cut off & sew ends.

Step 17 : Your hat is ready!!!!
